BTS: After the Session:
Our session was amazing, exciting, fun and I am always in such awe at the end of the night!

I am now home, and usually too excited to even handle myself. I am completely exhausted and backup all of your photos to my hard drive.  I typically try not to do any further work on this front, because I want to be well rested and ready to look at the session with fresh eyes!
The next morning I do what we photogs call culling.  This is basically sifting through every single picture.  Yep! I look at EVERY. SINGLE. PICTURE and pick the BEST of the best to edit! This ranges anywhere from 40-100 depending on the session being a mini session or a full session.  After I have done so, I save all of these best of the best photos and bring them into Lightroom to start editing them!!  Every session is different, and some sessions take 12-14 hours to edit, while others only take 4 hours.  It depends on the location, style and whether it was a mini or a full session!
(check out Part 1: Before the Session as to how we choose these parameters that fit perfectly for you right HERE!)

My turnaround time is 7-10 business days, but to be honest? I shoot for 4 business days.
Why do I do this? SERVICE!!!!!
How great of a feeling is it to know that you ordered something in the mail and it was going to take a week to get to you, but realize 2-3 days later it shows up in your mailbox?! That feeling of excitement and gratitude is why I work so diligently.  Major portion of my editing goes into making the photos look consistent.  I do my very best to get the shot close to perfect straight out of camera, but really focus on the consistency from my editing style.
I do not use presets! If you don't know what presets are, they are pre-made edits that you click on that automatically change your photo to that preset.  There is nothing wrong with using a preset for editing by any means! I just find that editing each individual one by hand shows compassion, dedication, consistency and hard work for all of my clients! I do my absolute best to get it as close as I can straight out of camera by using my Expodisc! This is a white balance & Exposure disk that I regularly use in all of my sessions (check out more in Part 2: During the Session HERE!)
I brighten up the image, make sure that all of the skin tones look even and normal as they did the day of the session.  I make sure that any overpowering tones are taken out to ensure everything looks smooth.  I do not mess with colors by any means! I want these photos to look natural, bright, clean and beautiful!
As I work, I am constantly double checking by pulling random images to ensure they look consistent.  I want to make sure the entire gallery looks as it should! Once I have narrowed down the photos even more and finished all of the edits I save them ALL so that you can now choose your top favorites at our photo reveal!

We will meet up together so we can allow you to choose your favorites from the session!  I believe that not all photo shoot are a one size fits all.  I believe that every individual, family, couple and every client has a different story; that also applies to how you choose your photos.  That is why I provide many different options as well as different packages!
I provide the ability to purchase all of the edits from the session as well as prints and albums! Friends don't let friends print their memories at a grocery store!!! I work specifically with companies who provide the highest quality prints, for photographers.  This is better than any print you can get and comes matted ready to hang freely or put into a frame!
My goal from beginning, middle through to the end is to serve you.  I want you to feel comfortable, knowledgeable, important and know that I care about you and your family's memories.  That means offering the best options possible for every single client!
