On my social media, I do my best to be as transparent as possible about how I work and give some behind the scenes!  Whether that's showing some quick before and after’s, giving looks at what happens during a session, or what different options I provide for prints and albums.  Today, I am going to give you the entire look of what I do behind the scenes! Start to finish exactly how I run my business!  Part one? Before the Session!

BTS: Before the Session:
I am SO EXCITED!!! Why? Because you've found me one of my social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, the Website, Pinterest) and have contacted me about setting up a session!  Before the session is even scheduled, I want to find out more about you.  I make sure that all your specific parameters are met! For example if it’s for a holiday, birthday or celebration we need to ensure you get the finished product in the quickest time frame possible.  I also discuss the best day and hour of that day that will work best!  I prefer to shoot when the light is even and soft.  This means either early morning or right before sunset!  But I want to ensure I work with your schedule!  If that means working during the middle of the day I can absolutely make that happen. My turnaround time for a completed session is only 7 business days!  This allows for flexibility in time management and much more availability for all my clients. We then schedule a day that will be the perfect fit for you!

Now that we have figured out your specific session date, I ensure that your ideas and vision can be perfectly achieved through deciding a location!  Some people are not sure of exactly what they are looking for. Others have a vision in their head and can tell me exactly what time of day they want their session to be!   I ask questions that help me narrow down the aesthetic of your session.  I also take into account what time of year it is!  Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter require all different priorities and knowledge of knowing what is open and available for our use.  Depending on your location or the location you would like to stay close to I give you multiple options!  That can be an outdoor session or a studio that perfectly fits our needs!  I primarily shoot outdoors for the natural and bright feel that comes from being outside!  But there are also many studios that provide that same natural and bright feel with the convenience and comfort of being indoors!

The time parameters have been addressed, we've set a date, decided where to shoot, what feel and vibes you want and now is time to decide dress code!  This part is typically the most difficult part for most clients.  There are so many options and I know that you want the best option to fit with the location!
This is where I have put so much time into a complete Welcome and Style Guide for how to Dress to Impress!  If you'd like a few of my favorite tips that I share in this complete style guide, check out the blog post on why your photographer should provide a style guide HERE!
