The Farrer family was a part of the amazing England extended family session! Since the extended family session was dedicated to as many group shots as possible, Erin and Tyler decided they wanted a more personal session specifically for their family and booked me for the next week. The last time they had professional family photos done was when Lila, the youngest, was very very little!
I always do plenty of research into all of my families before our session. Not only their likes, dislikes, and give them my style guide on How to Dress to Impress (Come read my top three tips HERE), I also like to get an idea of what their session location was like the last time they had professional photos taken. I do this because I want all of my clients to have a unique and thought out session, to ensure variety for them and their future prosperity! Since the Farrer family’s last photos were in dense trees and nature, we were all extremely excited at the prospect of using structure and marble.
We decided that using the Utah State Capitol would be the best option (I mean honestly, it is absolutely one of my GO-TO’s for suggestions every time!).

You guys, this family was so AMAZING! I know I know… I say that about all of my families, but seriously this session was exactly how I pictured it going! With Morgan, Cade and Liv being older, they were extremely easy to work with and showed their personality so easily.
Olivia, the beautiful red head with the pink shoes right there? She even came up with some of the poses for the individual photos! That is something that I always have stored in the back of my mind, but when it happens so naturally? It truly is pure magic to me.
Morgan, the gorgeous girl with the locks of hair that flow for DAYSS (mermaid status!), told me she wants to pursue photography and she absolutely has an eye for it! She showed me some of her photos that she had taken during the down time while I was shooting her siblings and parents and I am so excited to see this talented lady continue on in her life! Cade was super chill and immensely helpful (though I think he was trying to be sneaky by doing this ;) ) by being silly and making goofy faces and walks! He is so immensely intelligent and you can see it in the way he talks to his family.
Lila was extremely shy during the extended family session, but I think she started to open up and showed a LOT more of her own adorable and sweet personality. She LOVES her siblings, and knows that she is always taken care of by them. We ended with a gorgeous sunset in the background, and we of course, froze close to death. But it is ALWAYS worth it when the photos turn out like this!
