There are many different types of session that coincide with the photographer's profession. Weddings, parties, venues, commercial, couples, families, newborns/infancy, pets and the list continues on! I've heard many photographers that say 'I do a little bit of everything!' and I used to think that! I used to tell myself 'Well I can do every type of session for ANY occasion!!! I'll be able to do exactly what EVERYONE asks! That way I will never turn people away."

I have to admit to you all...... right here, right now?? That I choose not to do it all... I specialize in and have a deep passion and talent for Portrait and Family Photography!!!
It has taken quite some time to get to the point that I made this extremely difficult decision for myself....
You may be asking, why did you have to choose a genre?? Isn't it easier to just accept all kinds of sessions? ...Ch'yah! You bet it is!! It is a LOT easier to say yes to everything that comes my way and get another paycheck, rather than say no and only work in my specialized field of Portraits and Families!
But here is why I choose not to do it all.
I do not photograph all types of photography sessions due to the extreme levels of SERVICE and QUALITY of time, work and everything I invest with all of my clients. I would not be able to have those investments and dedication if I stretched myself thin. I will never sacrifice the service and quality I give to all of my clients for the sake of getting a random paid session...
With that being said? Lemme break it down a bit as to what each genre is!
Portrait photography is any one person on an individual level (kids, graduates, head shots, pets, for a loved one etc!).
Family photography is 1 or more persons, all the way up to 40+ people! Family is where your heart is, and that means your partner for life! This is NOT limited to families with children! This also includes all my amazing couples with fur babies, with any amount of kids or with no kids at all!
My style includes the candid lifestyle photography that are not posed and unplanned, as well as beautifully posed photography that feel cohesive but still raw and in the moment! These two styles of candid and posed are my FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE to incorporate into every session!
It allows me to give variety, quality and to capture the right moments, every time!! I love the unique stories that every face tells; no matter portrait or family photography? We will enjoy ourselves! That beautiful light that shines through deserves to be made into forever memories!
