“Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to watch the one and only Red Sox play in Fenway Stadium; the heart of Massachusetts. It's an experience I cannot wait to have in my life.”
Have you ever had someone tell you a dream or goal to which you immediately pictured how you could make that happen for them? Warren told me this among our dating years in 2015; I said to myself ‘I want to take him. I want to be the one to make this happen for him and ON his 30th birthday. I honestly don’t know HOW I’m going to make that happen...
Last year, I made a financial goal for 2018. I would save enough money to pay for Warren’s 30th birthday trip. I planned & schemed with my family (if you don’t know the Quist family, we all love our baseball). I talked to my brother who loves baseball Jakob as well as my Mom & Dad Quist & Webster for opinions and planning help. I planned, re-planned, worried, saved, pinched and then FINALLY bought the flights & Stadium tickets in January of 2019; a month prior to my sweetheart’s 30th in February.

I made it a HUGE surprise (although I THINK he secretly hoped and potentially knew ;) ) on his birthday on February 2nd. The only downfall was we had to wait until June.. IT. WAS. WORTH. THE. WAIT!
Being at the baseball park is unlike any other experience. Time seems to slow down, and there is an atmosphere of camaraderie rooting for a team unlike any sports event I’ve experienced. If you have never been to a Major league baseball game, I HIGHLY recommend it.
The crowds, vibe, views of Fenway and Jersey street were UNREAL! Certain streets are legit closed specifically for Boston’s Sox. The exterior of Fenway is truly as grand as the interior. If you’ve seen ‘Fever Pitch’ with Jimmy Fallon & Drew Barrymore, you KNOW how crazy Massachusetts is about their Red Sox. Seeing them play and going to the stadium is truly a religious experience. Life changing. We found a GLUTEN FREE HOT DOG STAND INNNN THE STADIUM (tears of joy!) and were SO CLOSE to Mookie Betts in the right outfield. Can’t be a baseball game without French fries & ketchup being spilled everywhere, stadium food/snacks, and lots of heckling and people watching. Watching the Green Monster mascot hug, sign and play with kids and little soon to be baseball fans enjoying a nice summer nap.

We got BURNED, we enjoyed souvenir shopping for all the things, we got matching Boston hats, and took as many memorable photos as I was comfortable asking people to take of us. We had heard of some interesting restaurants via our Uber driver and decided to spend the rest of our evening enjoying the seafood, pier and environment there! We found Yankee Lobster Co, saw it looked good and went for it not knowing that it was one of Guy Fieri’s famous triple D restaurants (Diners, Drive-ins & Dives). We enjoyed the best clam chowder on the entire planet (fun fact, there is no such thing as New England clam chowder in New England… It’s just chowder and that exactly how we like it!). Warren chose Fieri's fave dish the lobster Mac & I had one of the best chicken lettuce wraps and fries.
The trip was immensely short, but it was absolutely a trip of a lifetime. I would NOT have been able to accomplish this without the support and connections I make with all of YOU!!! My gratitude and cup is overfilled.
